Telco diffuse proximity photoelectric sensors place the emitter and receiver in one housing and detect light reflected directly from the target. This simplifies installation because no separate receiver or reflector is required.

Selection should account for sensing range, target size, color and surface finish, background conditions, housing style, output and connection. Because target reflectivity affects diffuse sensing performance, compare the application conditions with the individual model specifications before choosing a sensor.
