ACE Controls HBD hydraulic dampers are maintenance-free, self-contained and sealed units that deliver regulation at the highest level. Available in body diameters from 0.59 in (15 mm) to 1.57 in (40 mm) with stroke lengths up to 31.5 in (800 mm), they provide constant, repeatable speed control across the full stroke.

Unlike standard hydraulic dampers that include free travel of up to 20 % of stroke, HBD units have no free travel, making them ideal for applications that demand this level of performance. Double-acting damping is standard, with a single-acting design available on request. Damping is adjusted simply by pulling and turning the piston rod until the desired speed is reached, and a built-in antilock guard allows adjustment at any damping rate without lock-up.

Typical uses include process control, machine guards, lids, hatches, fire-safety doors, medical-equipment arms, conveyors, swinging loads, machine tools, lift gates and drill-feed control. A range of interchangeable end fittings is included for easy mounting in any position.
